The prices of containers from China are falling rapidly and shipping lines are trying to control the situation, as the volumes of cargo are sharply decreasing. In our view, one of the main reasons is the increase in U.S. taxes on Chinese electric cars from 25% to 100%. Before the introduction of taxes (September 27th), electric cars were imported in large quantities, and when this flow stopped, the prices of containers began to fall. The prices of container freight are falling both to the United States and to Europe.

Meanwhile, the lines are trying to stop the fall of the freighters by removing the ships (blank sailings).
