Gondola wagon

Gondola wagon

The gondola wagon has high sides, but do not have a roof. It is the most common type of wagon for freight transportation and designed for the transport of goods, not sensitive to of atmospheric environmental effects. Due to the open top, these wagons are loaded and unloaded very quickly, and if necessary, they can also be unloaded through the hatches at the bottom.

In gondola wagons usually bulk cargoes are transported – ore, coal, fluxes, rubble, coal, sawn or round wood. Sometimes we transport packed or bulk goods in gondola wagons. In this case the walls of the wagon are insulated with cardboard for extra protection. For sensitive to of atmospheric effects cargoes we might install the polypropylene liner into the wagon itself.

The gondola wagons might be equipped with several axles – 4, 6 and 8, and vary in different sizes and dimensions.
