Industrial reusable containers
Medium-capacity containers for bulk products (IBC’s) are an industrial container used for storing and transporting liquid and bulk products.. Today, three widely popular types of IBC are used – rigid, foldable and flexible. The volume of the two most common rigid IBC tanks is 600 liters and 1000 liters. Medium-capacity containers for bulk products can be used several times. Containers are washed, dried and containers can be used again.
Medium-capacity containers for bulk products are used to transport and store the following products:
- Various solvents
- Pharmaceutical products
What do IBC are made from?
This depends on a number of factors, including whether the IBC will be reused, whether durability and various legal requirements are required. Cube-shaped rigid containers are often made of plastic, such as polyethylene or high density polyethylene (HDPE). A sturdy outer container or usually a cage, usually made of galvanized tubular steel or iron.
Foldable IBC does not form a rigid outer cage and is made of very durable plastic, which is empty inthe interior.
Flexible IBC or wholesale bags are made of various heavy materials, such as woven polypropylene or polyethylene.
Advantages of bulk containers
This is an economical way to safely transport various products from point A to point B. The container is equipped with a tap – a valve to which the tipping hose can be attached to make it easier to transfer the liquid contents inside smaller containers. This is important when it comes to ensuring certain packaging requirements. Cube-shaped rigid IBC can be stacked on top of each other for optimal use of space for transportation by sea or by land or during storage. Both folding and flexible IBC use even less space when the cargo is unloaded and the IBC containers go back empty. IBC tanks are more useful and more spacious than round tanks because they occupy a smaller storage area.
